Support this Incredible and Transformative Project for Rye
We write in full-fledged support for this proposal which would be transformative for Rye as a civic and cultural hub of Westchester County. As parents of two boys in Rye public schools, we can speak to how impactful the programming is at Rye Arts Center, as well as the need to update the facilities to continue attracting young families and retain students as they enter high school. This rezoning isn't just about the Arts Center. A reimagined Arts Center will also be a huge boon to property values in Rye - setting our community apart from the other nearby towns (Larchmont, Scarsdale, etc) which lack a first class arts and cultural facility. The proposed buildings is striking and would immediately become one of the first images people see when they consider moving to Rye. A state of the art facility, like the one proposed, would help us attract new families who want to see that Rye is more than a beautiful coastal community with good schools and athletics, but actually the complete package -- one where the arts and culture are also a top priority. We value Rye for all of the reasons I just listed and enabling the Arts Center to build this bold new facility would be a tremendous step forward for our town's families, our educational programming, and our kids. The fact that it would immediately become a county landmark makes it all the better for property owners in Rye. Please approve this great proposal!
