A Great and Necessary Enhancement to the Rye Community

As an RAC board member, Rye resident for nearly a decade and the parent of two RHS graduates and art students, I am very supportive of the Rye Arts Center's proposed project. The RAC is an institution that enhances the quality of life of everyone in Rye through its classes and art exposure for pre-K to seniors citizens.

The RAC team and board is deeply committed to working with the Rye community to solicit input and ensure that the community's thoughts are heard and help to shape the project. To this end, we have reached out to local residents for their thoughts.

While we acknowledge and appreciate the concerns shared, I believe they do not take into account the care that has gone into planning to ensure both parking and traffic effects are minimal.

The goal, to ensure we have the capacity to offer a world-class arts and music resource to our residents and enhance the quality of life in Rye, requires us to modernize to meet the demand. We look forward to working with the community, listening to concerns and seeking to accommodate those to the greatest extent possible while achieving our vision. Continuing to make Rye a great place to live requires us to provide our residents, from 7 to 97, a welcoming and beautiful place where they can learn, share and create.
